The instantaneous speed of the two shafts is the same, but it is required that the connected two shafts remain on the coaxial line without relative displacement to avoid additional dynamic load.Among them, the flange coupling has accurate centering, good rigidity and strong torque transmission capacity.The sleeve coupling has a small radial dimension and small moment of inertia, and can be used for transmissions with frequent starting and constant speed changes.Jacketed couplings are often used to connect vertical shafts, and the shaft does not need to move axially during assembly and disassembly.

②Removable couplings: gear couplings, chain couplings, cross slide couplings and universal couplings.The rigid movable coupling can compensate the relative displacement of the axis of the two shafts, thereby improving the working conditions.This relative displacement is caused by deformation of parts under load, sinking of the base and thermal deformation during the operation of the machine.The gear coupling is composed of internal and external gears with the same number of teeth and other parts. Comprehensive displacement is allowed between the two halves. It is widely used in high-speed and heavy-duty mechanical transmission.The chain coupling is composed of sprocket and chain with equal number of teeth installed on two shafts, allowing radial displacement, simple structure, reliable work, low quality and convenient maintenance, but it is not suitable for high-speed and frequent starting occasions.The Oldham slider coupling is composed of a middle slider and two grooved half couplings, allowing radial displacement, and is used in low-speed occasions.The universal coupling is used for the connection of two shafts with intersecting axes, and the angle between the axes of the two shafts can reach 45°.If the two axes do not coincide, the instantaneous speed of the driven shaft changes when the driving shaft rotates at a constant speed.Using two universal joints and an intermediate shaft (the forks of the intermediate shaft are in the same plane, and the angles between the two shafts and the intermediate shaft are equal), the same instantaneous speed of the two shafts can be obtained.In addition, there are other synchronous universal couplings with different structures, such as ball cage synchronous universal couplings.

It has low torsional stiffness and strong cushioning and damping capacity. It is suitable for wet, dusty, large impact, forward and reverse rotation and large relative displacement of the two shafts. It is widely used in lifting and transporting machinery.The rubber body of the high elastic rubber coupling is vulcanized on the metal inner and outer discs to form a combined ring, usually arranged in pairs, with high elasticity and good vibration damping performance.The rubber sleeve coupling and rubber plate coupling have simple structure, easy manufacture, and a wide range of applications.The nylon pin coupling is similar to the elastic ring pin coupling, but the structure is simpler, and the wear resistance and vibration damping ability are also strong.
