Coupling data required for mechanical improvement

In order to ensure smooth completion of the improvement,CouplingThe designer needs to know the weight of each half of the coupling and the position of the CG (center of gravity) to make the overhanging moment consistent.By matching such data with the proposed diaphragm coupling, the critical side speed of the unit will not be affected.In order to ensure successful improvement, some major original manufacturers of turbo compressors have established principles based on speed.As follows:
· If the speed is as low as 3600 r/min, the weight and center of gravity of each half of the new coupling should be within 20% of the existing coupling.
· When the speed is between 3600 and 6000 r/min, the weight of each half and the position of the center of gravity should be within 15%.
· When the speed exceeds 6000 r/min, the weight of each half and the position of the center of gravity should be within 10%.

Necessary application data must be obtained during mechanical improvement to ensure normal improvement.
Usually include the following data:
· Power (HP or kW) and speed (minimum, maximum and standard operation);
· Details of the shaft end of the driving and driven equipment;
· Angular deviation upper limit (usually required for high-performance couplings? degrees);
· Service objects (pipeline compressors, ethylene units);
·Whether the coupling needs to comply with API-671 specifications-for turbine equipment, it must comply with;
· Environment (salt water spray, chlorine water, hydrogen sulfide).
· BSE (shaft end face spacing, also called shaft spacing);
· Expected thermal expansion (amount and direction of expansion);
        In addition, it should be consistent with the torsional stiffness or Kt of the existing coupling to prevent the torsional critical speed of the unit from changing.Generally speaking, a two-part unit or transmission device directly connected to the driven equipment is not very sensitive to the change of the coupling Kt, but if there is a gearbox or a second or third rotor, this change will be Have a significant impact.
